Property developers are faced with backlogs of housing projects in the tens of thousands, stalled in the planning process due to new nitrate neutrality environmental regulations. Zeo Systems is a breakthrough filtration product that enables developers to meet regulatory requirements and move forward with halted housing projects. Nitrates are salts that, in high concentrations, create algae blooms that damage ecological water systems and can make water undrinkable.

Zeo Systems’ is an off the shelf filtration system that neutralises nitrates from residential wastewater before its release into public and groundwater systems. It was developed at the Brownfield Research Innovation Centre (BRIC) through a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) partnership.

The advanced filtration system can be installed in individual houses or community water systems to deliver breakthrough filtration technology to the housing development and domestic wastewater management market. The system utilises clinoptilolite, a natural zeolite, that functions like a molecular sieve and is formulated to target and remove nitrates from water.
